Sorrento Ristorante

On our way to Dolce Vita, we happen to see Sorrento and decided to try it for the sake of trying something new.  I've seen Sorrento marketed in Groupons...that should have told me something.  The experience was fine, the atmosphere was cozy.  It was a fairly small restaurant.  Service was good.  A bread basket was brought to us for our choosing.  They had an olive oil dip with a full baked garlic head, which was actually kind of nice.  We ordered the Mediterranean Salad, Gnocchi and the Ahi Tuna over Risotto.  Everything was ok, nothing to write home about.

Brooklyn Athletic Club

Interesting name for a restaurant, but it also has an outdoor recreational area.  It's pretty cool. Currently, it's too cold to be outside playing corn hole, croquett, etc, which is why there is no one outside, but if the weather was warmer, I could see this as a wildly busy spot.

 

The service was excellent, the staff were very accommodating.  I was taking photos outside so that might have had some influence.  They said you normally have to make reservations but they were able to make rooms for us, that was very nice.  We ordered the lamb and the mac & cheese as our server had recommended.  The mac & cheese was my favorite, it was so good.  The lamb was fine, I thought it tasted good, but it wasn't my favorite.  However, it was cooked to perfect, the meat just fell off the bone.  The ahi tuna salad was nice, good textues and tasted fresh, simple.

I liked my experience, I would like to go back and spend some time outdoors in their recreational area.  Definitely a good spot for eats and play!
