Lily @1.5 lbs

This week Lily is tackling stairs, keeping out of trouble and being loved on here by my bestie, Denyse's, daughter Cameran at Colin's track meet in Spring Texas.  Wow, that was a mouthfull of people!

Southside Espresso (Next to Uchi)

I have been meaning to and looking forward to trying Southside Espresso.  Are they related to Uchi?  I don't know, forgot to ask.  I really liked the interior, it's cute, airy, lots of light.  They made my cappaccino with soy and this cute design, love it!  I do have a few complaints, they put too much milk and not enough foam.  There was no equal, but I had to use Stevia, which I have never used and wasn't sure how much to use.  I was looking for cinnamon and they didn't have that out either.  The barista had to look for it and pulled out a large ziplock bag with a lot of cinnmon and handed me some on a spoon, which was very nice and accommodating of her.  But, do I have to do the same thing everytime I want cinnamon?  I thought that was surprising to see a coffeeshop not have cinnamon on the condiments bar.  Anyways, I still liked it, the atmosphere is nice and quiet, staff cool.

Hermann Park!

We were attempting to go to the Pinewood Cafe at Hermann Park, but they were closed.  Instead, we walked around, ate ice cream and sat on some grass.  I have never walked around Hermann Park and it's a great place to have some leisure activities.  There are bicycle boats, ducks to feed, bridges to walk over, fountains to run through, people to look at, and lots of places to sit around and do nothing on.  We liked it a lot and have plans to go back and picnic...fun fun!

Ruffles Green (Heights) Now Opened!

I hear mixed opinions about Ruggles Green Heights location.  I do like Ruggles Green, but had not tried the Heights location.  Going into the building, I like what they've done to the place.  It's bright, decorated well, and good patio space.  On the food, I have noticed they made some changes to my favorite Texas Warm Goat Cheese Salad. The sundried dressing doesn't quite seem the same, but it's still good, I liked it and would probably go back again.  Matt had the Chicken Tacos and said they were good, I tried and they were tasty.  I love corn tortillas!  Ethan had a burger and said it was good too...I'll have to take his word on it since I didn't try his.  We all did nibble on his fries which were fine.  I would definitely put it on my list of places to go to in the Heights.

Lunch at Barnaby's!

Mr. Eggsalad sandwich with potato fries.

Mr. Turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries...they're so funn!

Premier Wine & Spirits

New on Yale in the shopping center between Washington and I-10.  This location came in handy while we were entertaining this weekend, attempting to make Margaritas!  The owner and employees were so helpful.  The employee that was helping us was so honest.  She advised us to use a cheaper Tequila for Margaritas, as opposed to someone doing Tequila shots and looking for more high quality Tequila.  Isn't that awesome?  That's the kind of people I like, honest ones!  So, I definitely liked it here and I'll be back if I am in need of wine and spirits!

Kuhl-Linscomb (Upper Kirby)

I'm not exactly sure how I have lived here in Houston all my life and have never been to these wonderful little shops.  Kuhl-Linscomb is a combination of 5 shops that have an assortment of everything you can imagine, from candles, diffusers, gifts, decor, furniture, to faux flowers!  I guess the best description I can think of is it's an upscale Bed Bath & Beyond.  It's awesome, I love it!  They also provide free drinks!  They had frozen drinks, one was the slimrita, the other was a pomegranate sangria and free beer!  It's probably because they can't sell it or else they would have to get a liquor or beer license.  Super fun place to just walk around or great place to just get some nice gifts from.  You must go visit!
